Rapid and Efficient DNA Recovery
NAO® Basket is a semi-permeable system designed for releasing and concentrating human DNA from swab samples or other specimens during the extraction step. Used with Copan’s FLOQSwabs® flocked swabs and a one-step centrifugation, the system provides a fast and highly efficient method for releasing and concentrating all nucleic acids present in a swab sample, card punches or other specimens into a processing tube.

NUCLEIC ACID OPTIMIZER: NAO™ Basket
The Smart Nucleic Acid Optimizer’s semi-permeable basket, used with Copan’s FLOQSwabs® flocked swabs, and a one step centrifugation, is a fast and highly efficient system for releasing and concentrating all nucleic acids present in a swab sample, card punches or other specimens into a processing tube.
Maximize DNA Recovery
The combination of NAO® Basket and FLOQSwabs® provides more than 90% DNA recovery of the reference sample collected by the swab, particularly critical for crime scene evidence testing. The 20 mm breaking point designed on the 4N6FLOQSwabs® is compatible with the NAO® Basket.
Secure In-Basket Lysis
NAO® Basket retains the sample during the lysis step of the forensic sample. Upon centrifugation, valves in the bottom of the NAO® Basket open up and allow the sample lysate to pass through while the substrate remains in the NAO® Basket.
